Search committee workshops

These workshops, held yearly, are designed to ensure that those involved in searches for academic personnel are fully aware of relevant laws, policies, rules and guidelines. The workshops are intended primarily for deans, chairs, directors, search committee chairs, and search committee members. All members of each search committee are required to attend one of these workshops within the last year.

The purpose is to review the search process with attention to the aforementioned strictures, the types of efforts needed to recruit a diverse pool of candidates, the steps of the selection process, permissible conduct in reference checking, and other relevant aspects of the hiring activities.
